Testimonials
"As a former school Principal and teacher with over ten years experience I have been very impressed with the programme offered by Choi Kwang Do, a programme I believe holds great promise for young people who wish to develop sense of self-discipline, humility and commitment. I feel that the principles under which the programme is delivered allow students opportunities to experience discipline in a setting with firm boundaries and clear guidelines. The expressed non-violence and non-contact nature of the programme ensures that all students can participate in an environment structured for success.
The patterns and repetitive nature of the movements involved in the programme will stimulate brain development and aid concentration in areas outside of the Choi Kwang Do setting. Having led a school with a high number of students with behavioural needs, I firmly believe that a programme of this nature would have been extremely useful in providing my students with an experience that would have helped them to develop greater self-awareness and self-control."

I am an active student at Choi Kwang Do and find that it gives me so much energy. As an active senior citizen I do many things to keep myself busy. Choi Kwang Do gives me more flexibility and allows me to do things I thought I would never be able to do - all the while using my body in a friendly way. Choi Kwang Do also helps with my balance - at the same time making me more aware and I also gain valuable and practical Self Defence skills. The classes are fun, positive, educational and I enjoy training with people of all ages.

I started Choi Kwang-Do June 08 at the age of 46, having taken my then 5 year old son to a trial program I thought why not do Choi with him as a Father/Son activity. Our initial goals were to teach my son a Martial Art and insure he was instilled with self confidence I was along for the ride. I quickly enjoyed the physical work out that takes place when you train , coming from a 13year background of Iyeenga Yoga I find the warm up sessions prior to training a great continuance of what I knew. The martial Art Training is a very well arbitrated development of need to know basic skills that build Techniques up to a full and comprehensive range of Kicks ,Punch’s , Blocks , Self Defence moves along with Offensive Drills for the need to use situation. Choi has been developed with the aim of supporting the body (joints) the techniques support and strengthen joints where many Martial Arts literally ‘Blow’ the joints. Choi is NON contact, don’t be fooled we kick and punch harder than other Arts because we train without fear of being actually hurt. Our target training involves target Mitts and Shields where you deliver full Techniques at Max power.
I’m currently Belted as a Gold Senior I’ve become an Assistant instructor I’ve lost 10Kgs my back and joints feel great.
